Here are some more photos I took over the last few days. As you can see on some of them, most rivers, ponds and small lakes in the city are frozen and snow covered.

The day was quite pleasant for snapping pictures, because it was relatively mild with -5°C and calm. I took the chance to walk along the Parthe river which already began freezing over with larger ice floes slowly drifting downstream.

On the following images you may like to try spotting the pond ;-). There is indeed one, but it is all frozen over and snow covered. I did not try to walk over the ice to the island in the middle of the pond, because I was not sure about the ice’s condition under the snow blanket.

I’m lagging behind with my photo posts, so here comes the photographic retrospect for the second quarter of the year:

The first quarter of the year is gone and I think it is about time to reflect it with a photographic retrospect:

For armchair botanists and others interested in plants I added the scientific names where it made sense (requires at least a prominently featured plant in the first place ;-), providing I know what it was. This is only a small selection of what I considered worth keeping and the decision process was quite hard, as there were much more pictures of equal quality than usual. As a whole, I was quite content with 2007’s achievements concerning photography. Hope you liked some of the pictures, if not, this year will surely introduce some improvements, as usual ;-).
